Who we are
PQOC is the personal website and creative project of Adam and Chris. For data-protection purposes, we are responsible for the personal information described in this notice. You can contact us at hello@pqoc.co.uk.
Information we collect
We may receive information you choose to provide, including your name, email address and the contents of messages sent to us. If comments are enabled and you leave one, WordPress may also collect the information entered in the comment form, your IP address and browser details to help detect spam.
Our hosting provider automatically records limited technical information in server logs, such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, date and time, referring page and error information. With your consent, Google Analytics also collects information about how visitors use the website, including pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser information, and interactions with the site. We do not use Google Analytics for personalised advertising.
How and why we use information
We use information to respond to enquiries and maintain correspondence; operate, secure and troubleshoot the website; prevent spam and misuse; understand website performance and improve its content; and comply with legal obligations. Our lawful bases are consent for non-essential analytics cookies, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the website and responding to ordinary enquiries, and legal obligation where the law requires us to process or retain information. You may withdraw consent at any time through the cookie settings.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. Strictly necessary cookies may be used to operate the website, protect it and remember your cookie choices. These do not require consent. A language-preference cookie may be used if you use the website’s translation controls.
If you choose “Accept analytics”, Google Analytics may set cookies including _ga and _ga_<container-id>. These distinguish visits and help us understand aggregate website usage. Google Analytics cookies are not set unless you consent. You can choose “Reject analytics” and continue to use the website normally.

How long we keep information

Ordinary enquiries are normally retained for up to two years after the last meaningful contact, unless there is a reason to keep them longer. Security logs are kept for a limited period determined by our hosting and security arrangements. Analytics information is retained in accordance with the retention settings applied to our Google Analytics property. We periodically review and delete information that is no longer required.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to be informed; access your personal information; correct inaccurate information; request deletion or restriction; object to processing; receive certain information in a portable format; and withdraw consent. If we add embedded video, maps or social content in future, those services may collect information or set cookies; non-essential content will be handled through the site’s consent controls where required.
