Chris’s connection with the waterways began when he was just 21, enjoying day trips aboard narrowboats and discovering the unique freedom of life on the canals. What started as relaxed days on the water gradually developed into a lasting passion for narrowboat travel, heritage and the communities found along Britain’s waterways.

Professionally, Chris has built a successful career in senior financial leadership. He brings strategic thinking, careful planning and a determination to turn ambitious ideas into achievable plans. He is the researcher of the crew—equally happy studying cruising routes, exploring the history of a destination or considering every detail of their future all-electric narrowboat.

Chris also has a long history of volunteering and public service. He has served as a trustee and committee member for organisations including the South Downs National Park Trust and the brain injury charity Headway East London, alongside several other charitable and community organisations. This experience has strengthened his commitment to protecting special places, supporting communities and making a meaningful contribution.
